question about design

I've justed started to look at these boats online and I was just wondering how the sliding seat for hiking stays out when the boat is heeled and doesnt just slide back in. I am new at this and have never seen one of these kind of boats, International Canoe, locally, Charleston, South Carolina. If anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks

If you're sitting on it it doesn't slide - the weight adds enough friction. Simple as that.

I agree, but are you not forgetting the angle of the dangle!

Eventually, yes it will silde through. But, because there is a bit of tolerance,the seat point loads and should be very solid when you are sitting on it.
There are no fancy bearings opr anything tricky
Remember climbing upthe drawers to the cookie jar? It's that kind of thing.
