Where to learn sailing an IC or AC

Post by Squibb » Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:15 am

Hey all,
i'm a sailing insturctor in the Netherlands and stumbeld across the IC/AC, which seems to be awesome. So I like to follow a course. I'm willing to go to the UK for this, but I can't find a proper sailing school.
Can anyone advise me where I can find one?

Cheers.

Hi Squib

Most people buy a cheep starter boat to start learning on and progress onto something a bit more modern after a year or so because the IC/AC is not like any other boat at all. There are a few training weekends programmed in the UK (look on the program on the UK website for dates), however you would need to have your own or have borrowed a boat for them. The best advice anyone can give is to stick with it and spend as much time one the water as you can!

Also, for the IC/AC, I would use the other part of the forum as this part is mainly for open canoes (Canadian canoes with sails on) and doesn't seem to be used much anyway.
