Re: 2019 Nationals Plymouth
Being as I am a retired Gent, I am able to spend my whole week at the nationals and so I can do the full week series (one race per day.)
However I do also want to do the "Proper" Nationals series.
Am I correct then in assuming that on the Monday/Tues/ Wednesday there will be a single race, but on the remainder of the week there will be two races , in which the first race will include racers in the "Long" series, (the.."gudgeons" shall we say, in addition to the Championship "Pintles") , and the second race will be for the Pintles only, who are competing for the Championship.
Those who wish to could compete as both, doing the first 3 races (one a day) and then for remainder of the week, do both races, counting the first race for series and championship.
Small amount of extra work for race officer perhaps, but easily surmountable (with a beer bribe or an extra entry fee?)
Next question. Would the series fleet operate as a "2nd Division" (or Bowl Plate Shield) for those less speedy than our pintles, to encourage more competition through the fleet?

Re: 2019 Nationals Plymouth
Tony Marston's Top Secret Formula will be used to generate a handicap result for older boats to have something to fight for.
I have no idea what the formula is, But I hear competitors with white tiller extensions and Golden Retrievers will get a significant handicap boost.

Re: 2019 Nationals Plymouth
Will there be someone assigned to the task of trolley-minding at Plymouth?
In hindsight, the event at Loch Lomond was really well organised, with several people concerned solely with organising trollies.
There is a big rise and fall at Plymouth, and the concrete slip can make this a big problem for competitors, especially for those who may retire and find themselves without help.
One person would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2019 Nationals Plymouth
I can report that Mount Batten Centre have a Beach Master planned for the week so, hopefully, that should alleviate the problem of trolleys. I'm wondering if we might recruit some trolley dolly's who cold double up as masseurs for those of us need more remedial attention after racing. This is probably wishful thinking but none the less, I'll speak to the Hon Treasurer.
