Carbon Fibre Tillers

Post by colinbrown » Mon Jan 04, 2016 5:51 pm

I am just about to purchase a piece of carbon tubing to make a tiller for my new Maas canoe. I am considering 25mm diameter and wall thickness around 1.5mm. I have used 25mm alloy tubing for tillers on previous canoes so any advice on carbon tube sizing is welcome.

Thought that it was more down to stiffness ..... Not length or thickness.... :P

Colin,
I'm using a 28mm x 1.5mm carbon tube. It's more than strong enough.
