You Tube Videos
You Tube Videos
I've got a link to You Tube with the search string International Canoe Sailing on the International web page at the moment. It finds some of the good stuff people have posted, but not all of it, and it misses a great deal. In an ideal world I'd have a link on the International web page that would point straight at all the IC videos. I haven't bothered to study YouTube in depth: is it possible to set up a Channel or a Playlist or whatever specifically for IC Class content so that anyone uploading IC videos could add their video to the list and then it would automatically appear from the link? Someone would need to monitor it of course to see it didn't get clogged up with none IC material that had been added "by accident"...
Thanks, BTW to various people for recent posts on boat id and preferred photos.

Re: Who knows about YouTube subtleties?
It is possible to have a playlist, But only the user who creates that playlist would be able to add or remove videos to it.

OK, thanks Chris.
What I've done, then is to create a You Tube Channel called International 10SqM Canoe, and a playlist within it. I've added a good selection of Youtube videos to it, but what I suggest folk do is to post to this topic whenever they upload something to YouTube. That way I'll hopefully see it and can add the Video to the playlist, and it also means that the post will get featured on the IC front page for the next few days, so people will get a notification that way too. The link on the International site homepage should now be pointing at the playlist.
I've slung a quick graphic on the Youtube channel page, but as ever I welcome anything from other folk. I hold no illusions about being a talented commercial artist or whatever, I'm sure there are folk out there more capable than I.
So please post on here videos that should be on that channel/playlist and I've missed.
I've also added an auto add rule so that if the you have the string "International 10 Sq.M. Canoe" in the description or use that as a tag then the video should be auto added to the list.

Nice! This is a great selection so far. Absolutely wonderful idea.
This ones not a bad film either.

If anybody has a friend willing to go swim in the path of a reaching canoe with nothing but a life jacket and video camera more things like it can be shot in higher resolution. Here's to another productive summer of filming ourselves doing fast silly things in canoes.

Re: You Tube Videos
The speed is recorded by the camera which has a built in GPS, I use a Garmin Virb Elite http://sites.garmin.com/en-GB/virb/
The Garmin edit software has various gauges that you can add into the videos.
