North American International Canoesletter

Post by Willy Clark » Fri Oct 31, 2008 11:02 pm

Hi all,
I have finished the North American Canoesletter and sent it out to the mailing list. It is done entirely by email now so don't be expecting something by snail mail. Any Americans or Canadians who did not receive a copy should email me at wvc6@cornell.edu and I will add them to the mailing list. I handed off the mailing list responsibility for other countries to each countries national rep. Thus UKers should email Alan, Aussies email Christian, the Swedish email Ola, and Mikey can email himself. Theoretically this should result in everyone who wants a Newsletter getting one.

Thanks to everyone who submitted pieces to the issue. Big thanks to former editor John Kells for all his help throughout the process of producing my first newsletter.

Also I know that Arne Stahl is the National Rep for Germany. However, I have never met him, don't have his contact info, and it is not listed on the website. Arne if you could email me with your contact information I will send you a copy of the Newsletter and hopefully you can forward it to any Germans who want one.

Thanks again,

Willy

Sorry for sort of spamming the forum. The cold of Ithaca and lack of sailing has caused me to go on a bit of a forum binge.

Does anyone have Ola Bathelson's contact information. I tried to send him a newsletter so that he could forward it to any interested Swedish parties but Mailer Daemon shot it back at me saying that the address didn't exist anymore. Obviously my contact info is outdated. I really want to make the Canoesletter available to anyone interested so if anyone has Ola's current email address then shoot me an email at wvc6@cornell.edu and I will contact him.

Thanks

Willy

I think its worth having a newsletter archive as part of the new World site or as part of this forum with sub pages for each country.... What do others think?

Gentlemen,
The spring addition of the North American International Canoesletter has been mailed out. Anyone who did not receive a copy feel free to PM myself or John Kells who handles the mailing list. Non Americans should contact the head of their national body (UK - Alan, AUS/NZL - Christian, SWE - Ola, GER - Archie, POL - Mikey). If you are one of the many canoers who finds themselves obsessed with construction and design this is the newsletter for you. It contains write ups from many of the foremost canoe builders in the world as well as a few bits on technological advances. Also, a full copy of the 2009 racing schedule can be found within. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the newsletter, it makes my life as an editor much easier. Special thanks to John Kells for all his help in the role of editor squared.

In other news my sister Tommy has taken over management of the US site and is working on archiving old newsletters.

Thanks,

Willy

Gentlemen,
The 2009 summer edition of the International Canoesletter has been mailed. It contains a NOR for Nationals and Sugar Island where we should be getting some critical mass attending. As always anyone who did not receive a Canoesletter can feel free to PM myself or John Kells and we will do our best to add you to the mailing list. Non Americans should contact the head of their national body (UK - Alan, AUS/NZL - Christian, SWE - Ola, GER - Arne, POL - Mikey).

best,

Willy
