Wanted - First IC

Post by ChrisD » Thu Sep 01, 2011 5:51 pm

Hi there

On the lookout for my first IC.

I'm not planning on sailing it until start of next season, so more than happy to hang on for the right boat. I would prefer something that is pretty much ready to sail and a combi trailer or similar would be a must.

Budget is ~1.5k, although I could stretch this if the right boat came along.

Cheers

Thanks for the tipoff Michael. Unfortunately K166 turned out to be too much of a 'project' for me.

The hunt continues...!

Cheers for your help.

Hi Chris,

I have Canoe GBR 162 for sale at the moment, she might be exactly what you are looking for.

She is a Nethercote in wood. Has an aluminium mast and boom. there is an old suit of sails for getting you started and a 12 month old suit of Goacher sails for getting racing.

She also comes with trolley, trailer, covers and some sapre kit too such as a spare rudder blade.

Price £1,750 due to the excellent condition of sails. She is ready to race and gets sailed most weekends.

If you are still looking to buy a boat and are interested in this then give me a shout. Pics available upon request.

Regards

The search is over. I am now the very proud owner of Stingray.

Many thanks to Ian McPherson whose help throughout has been amazing, right from start helping me with general IC advise to making the trek to Aberdeen to deliver Stingray. I can't thank you enough.

All that's left to now is wait until next year to take her out. I'll be braking the ice off come 1st march :D

Thanks also to everyone who helped out along the way.

Look forward to seeing you on the water.

Cheers

Welcome to the fleet!! We are in the process of sorting out Open meeting dates for next year, so hope to see you then. Don't worry about not being able to beat Colin Brown or Robin Wood....none of us can, either! Just come along for the sail and a chat!!

:-)
