<b>In terms of shipping, Sail Melbourne is sponsored by Schenker Australia who are a freight forwarding company, used by the Australian sailing team and in my opinion, experts with moving boats and superb with their organization and efficiency (we have used them for years). They have lowered their rates for competitors in Sail Melbourne events. So encourage all enquiries to speak to them about arranging shipping, contact Erich Seifert on: e-mail erich.seifert@schenker.com tel: +61 (2) 93330410 or fax: + 61 (0) 2 9333-0496. I have no issues with you putting this on your website and sending out to others

Hi Everyone,
Well we're 1 month on from the IC Worlds website coming online, and so far only 13 sailors have expressed an interest in competing by filling out the intention to compete http://www.internationalcanoe.yachting. ... ?ID=d/9F40
The information captured in this document will greatly assist us in making 2008 a great Regatta, as well as let us all know who is intending to compete and in what class. Your comments can also flag any issues that the organising committee haven't thought of yet.

Thanks, and we look forward to receiving your response soon.

Okay, based on the 'Intention to compete' (http://www.internationalcanoe.yachting. ... ?ID=d/9F40). We currently have the following nations/hulls listed as interested in competing:

<b>IC</b>
AUS, GER , UK, US

<b>AC</b>
AUS, GER, UK

<b>DC</b>
AUS, US

<b>Classic (who are also counted in IC above)</b>
AUS, UK

Now, the 'intention to compete' is only a guide to the numbers that we'll expect to see, but with the NOR and Entry Form available from Jan 2007, now is a good time to start chatting to fellow IC, AC,DC and Classic IC sailors to get them motivated to come down under in 2008.
Plenty of details are online at http://www.icworlds.org, the host club site at http://www.mccrae.yachting.org.au, and the Regatta host site at http://www.sailmelbourne.com.au, or email me at internationalcanoe@hotmail.com

Hi Everyone,
The Online Entry form for the 2008 Regatta Manager IC World Championships is now available at http://www.icworlds.org
You can fill in this form online (have a read through the questions and make sure you have the information at hand available) OR print it fill it in and send it to the ICAA using the details on the page.

Thanks to some fantastic event sponsors (see the links at http://www.icworlds.org) and the outstanding support of the McCrae Yacht Club we have been able to keep entry fee's to the Worlds (including the pre-worlds regatta) to AUD$400. And although we ask for you to provide information on what social events you would like to attend, there is a good chance that we can subsidise these aswell.

So please get your entries in, tell your friends and get them into an IC for the Worlds and we'll see you here in Australia at the end of the year.

Cheers

Hi, could people please email me dates that their containers will be arriving and departing Australia.
internationalcanoe@hotmail.com

Also: we are finding a lot of difficulty with customs at the moment trying to clear some boats coming back from UK worlds. Customs are being VERY pedantic about the cleanliness of the boats, gear and trolleys. If there is ANY mud, dirt, grass or weed they may get delayed and that could be a problem at that time of year. Better make sure the guys REALLY clean everything and make sure everything that is in the container is included on the carnet documents.(ie no eskies, booze etc unless on the carnet!)

Issue for customs have been caused by the Horse flu (asia and US) and concerns about mad cow (uk).

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that the IC's have achieved the required 6 Nations for a World Championship, and thank you all for getting your entries in. I really look forward to seeing a lot of you again (and some of you for the first time) and having a drink with you (from the entries everything from; 'whatever is free' to water and cranberry juice; Beer; right up to the top shelf, mmmm Pussers Rum).

http://www.regattamanager.com.au/icworl ... tries.html

Also amazing is the number of DC's competing, there is a great vibe surrounding the future of IC's and the concept of returning to a development class again. I am really looking forward to seeing these boats on the water (jealous that I don't have one yet, and kind of secretly hoping I can beat some of them in the pre-worlds)

The best news is there are still boats in containers that haven't entered yet AND there are boats available in Australia (and the DC Lust Puppet in one of the US containers) to charter. So if you know of anyone who is kicking themselves for not coming, tell them it's not too late. (I've been working hard to try and get some New Zealanders into IC's, need some more Southern hemisphere sailors to 'restore the balance'). Contact me if you know someone who is keen to lease a boat (especially some people from other countries so they can share their IC experiences and hopefully grow the class).

See you all in a couple of months

Cheers

Come on! Some of you guys have been there for a few days now, there must be something happening at McCrae already?
Getting excited about next week's sailing.

Well I'm not in McCrae yet, but I'll try to help keep the ball rolling:

Well I've spoken to Steve Clark, they made it to McCrae, but as at Tuesday their luggage hadn't
Hayden is down there but can't log on - he made a cameo appearance after the US container had been unloaded
We've pre-ordered our fish for our Christmas Day dinner (pick it up when we arrive Christmas Eve)
Oh and I picked up my new sails yesterday

Indeedyesbyjoe.
Kim and I were driving back from Sandringham and it got pretty dark and windy with lots of rain.
There was a funnel shaped cloud that didn't continue to consolodate, but looked promising.
We were about to bag a short stop in Morenington, when the sky turned blue.
I'm bettin it didn't rain or blow in McCrae.
Anyway, Moores and Paterson are in town, the place is starting top look promising.

And more coming:

Saturday: West/southwest winds 25/35 knots extending throughout and then south/southwesterly at 35/45 knots by the afternoon. Seas 2.5 to 3 metres rising 3.5 to 4.5 metres. West to southwest swell 2 to 3 metres.
Sunday: Southwesterly wind 30/40 knots tending more west/southwesterly and easing marginally to 20/30 knots. Seas 2 to 4 metres. Southwest swell 2 to 3 metres.

Looking better for Thursday.
