Hi Alistair
From what I have read on the subject of the Europeans in Germany there is a patch of grass for tents, but I understand it will be on a first come first served basis - I suspect it may be quite cosy?

At least 3 Campsites quite close to the club.

I've booked my ferry and got the time off..... anyone else going? Have not seem any more info but intend to camp at the club, its just me so any space would do. Taking the Friday night ferry from Harwich to hook, might stop overnight somewhere on the way, not sure yet.

Yes, my ferry also booked, an overnighter from Portsmouth on the 18th July. Maybe spend a day or two in Holland before the event.

An update from Niklas Steinman:
The address of the club is Deutsch-Britischer Yacht Club, Kladower Damm 117d in Kladow.
We will sail on the river Havel where it meets Lake Wansee, so there will be barely any current.
The race office will open on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd July and the opening ceremony will be held that evening at 18.00 hours.
Racing will take place from Monday to Friday, and it is proposed to hold 12 races.
There will be a full social programme including a social in the city during the week and a big party on Friday 27th.
Camping will be available on the club premises for about 7 Euros per day per person. If people would prefer an apartment, Niklas will try to assist with the search.
Niklas is hoping the webpage for signing up for the racing will be active within the next week.

Do we have any advanced knowledge of the entry fee for this event?
Still thinking about attending?

Re: Europa Cup 2018
I am going, have booked a ferry for the Thursday, and will be staying at a campsite a little bit further up the lakeside, at Brietehorn.
Oddly enough, I sailed from the Deutsch-Britischer Yacht Club as a boy, as my parents were stationed at the RAF base nearby. This was before the Wall came down, and the East German boundary actually went across the Havel in one place; we ended up once almost sailing across it into East Germany by accident!
Looking forward to a great event

Re: Europa Cup 2018
I've just booked the Harwich - Hook ferry leaving Saturday (21st) morning coming back Saturday (28th) afternoon.
I have access to a double stacker so if someone is thinking of going but unsure about the journey on there own, I am happy to double up.
I will be travelling down from West Kirby to Harwich probably going M6 - A14 - Cambridge - Bury St Edmunds - Harwich.
The Dee-West Kirby Regatta is the week before the Europeans if someone wanted to do that event and leave the canoe there to be taken down that is also an option.
Let me know if you are interested.
