Last year we agreed that 2018 would include more secondary events which are scored as half points compared to the premier events. The Nationals get 3 points. This is to encourage more participation of canoes in other events as this is by far the best way of publicising the class and showing everyone just how dam good our boats are........

To this end I need results from any secondary events run through the season which will qualify as part of the travellers series. To count, there must be a minimum of 3 canoes of any flavour at a secondary event. I'm thinking about the Dee Open in May, Hayling Island also in May, Fed Cup at Hayling in August and Lord Birkett at Ullswater in July or any others. I need these by the end of next week. If I don't receive any they will not be included in the Travellers Trophy.

The last events of the year will be Plymouth (13/14) and/or Tata Steel (20/21) which are secondary's and will still count. Therefore the prizes will be calculated at the end of October and not awarded at Oxford which has been the tradition.

The last secondary event was completed at the weekend (Tata Steel SC) where there were 4 boats.

Unless anyone tells me of any other events this year which they want to include in the Travellers series by Friday, I will conclude the series and post the results next week.

Travellers full results posted under http://www.intcanoe.org.uk/index.php?op ... Itemid=103

For those who have changed boats mid season, you will find an entry for each boat i.e. results stay with the boat and helm combination and are not transferred automatically unless agreed with the sailing committee.
