It really does help the organisers if entries are not left to the last minute.
Entry fee increases from 5 June.

So, now that Phil has stung me into action it is time for me to bite the bullet and pay the entry. (£10 early entry incentive, = Drinks for the registration session. :D )
Check list:-
1.) Insurance. Out of date. Oops. Was OK at Llangdedfed. (needs an up date.)

2.) Measurement certificate...Hmmm. I have the Postcard size folded card from Bob Michael plus a letter written to the Insurers confirming the ("older than 25yr") boat is in a good state of repair.

No measurements though. The card kind of says "looks like a Canoe, Sails like a canoe, It must be canoe."
I presume however that this is the correct document?

For the measurements I can wade through these...
https://www.canoeicf.com/sites/default/ ... anges_.pdf

But it might be helpful to know roughly which measurements are likely to be being scrutinised.
Previous experience of these events (in fireflies) suggests things like Weight, Black bands on spars, daggerboard and other foil dimensions. I anticipate safety issues such as bouyancy might also be checked, and outboard plank length and Plank weight may also be checked. Is there a rule requiring us to carry a tow rope?

I have no endorsment on the boat measurement certificate but I presume that sails that have measurers signature and date will suffice.

Should "non regular" racers be made aware of any potential pitfalls (if any) or can we presume most of the scrutiny will be concentrated more on the Pintles than the Gudgeons?

3.) Accomodation. As a non camper van driver, it looks like Camping for me. Is there a popular site? (Need to book this)
Close enough to stagger home to. Comfortable enough and not too pricey.

Not many ACs have expressed their intention to enter yet: yes, I've done so and put my entry in. Come on guys, we need minimum of 6 of us to have a class.

I've just entered and will arrive on Wednesday. Anybody around for a practice?

Just booked the Beach House which is the one by the Chesil Beach wall I think. Anyone stayed there before?

Hi Steve
I will be there midday Wednesday hopefully, keen to get out on the water if it's not too windy. I am in hotel Aqua which hopefully is better than the last time I stayed there...

Pete, I'll be there... Wednesday. I believe Phil, Martin and Tony will also be attending. There's a shed full of other ACs that could and should come!

Just entered with Shazam, can only make Thur\Fri but hope that's help bump the ACs towards the required 6.

Hi I will be there on Wednesday and ready to go for a sail pm to early evening. I need all the time on the water I can get. Looks like a good turnout for the IC's. How are the entries on the AC's doing?
Last chance before the Worlds to try out some new ideas.

Could everyone check if they have any IC trophies hidden in cupboards, lofts or under the bed, as we are missing a few.

Please bring them to the Nationals, or if you are not coming, please let me know what trophies you have.

Thanks

If you are down at the Academy this Tues evening, we are running a sailing session at Chesil Sailability, located right close to where the ICs are parked. We start at 5:30pm through to around 8:00pm, and I'll be running the session. So if you are down, anyone welcome to come and watch a bit, or if you are out on the water, give our boats a bit of room!

A big thank you to all those who organised the nationals! A much needed break for me, bit of practice for the worlds and a good check of heavy weather sailing. I think some of the conditions were as windy as I have sailed in at a championships, all credit to the fleet, several new faces, who gave it a go! I think there was a good positive feeling at the event. I am looking forward to the worlds in Pwllheli!
