Having had an IC for several months now, i am enjoying the experience but was slightly disappointed with the sails that came with the boat. I felt that the hydes and other types were ok... But only ok.
I have designed a jib initially with a mainsail design coming later.
I have included a (somewhat poor) image of this first development jib and am keen for some more experienced canoe sailors to give it a try to help with feedback in order to improve the design.
There would be no charge for this, but I would require adequate feedback.
If all goes well and enough interest is shown, i will be able to produce jibs (and later mains) for a much lower price than other sailmakers.
I can be contacted by e-mail (cgould4004@msn.com)
or phone (07910291507)
Cheers

Re: Chris Gould IC jib design for test.
Hi Chris,
Looks nice. My boat's not afloat at the moment, and I'm not that experienced (on the Canoe, anyway) but the idea of cheaper sails sounds good. What was it about the others that made them just OK? Keep us informed!

Hi Chris, you need to get the sail up to LLandegefedd or Ullswater for a true test.
Are you coming up to Grafham or Corus? If you are I'm sure we could sort something out for a bit of testing and feedback

Re: Chris Gould IC jib design for test.
This development jib was designed for my own boat... It is smaller than the current Hyde design at around 2 square meters.
Money is a bit tight for at the moment due to other campaigns, so i am able to post the sail to anyone who is-
a: interested in helping me develop sails for the class
b: willing to give feedback
c: able to post it back

Re: Chris Gould IC jib design for test.
Chris has sent me his prototype jib which I will be taking to Grafham this weekend (assuming I can find somewhere to stay - what is going on down there this weekend? if anyone wants to take a look at it.
