Re: Tensioning toestraps

Superglue works well to seal strap ends also... Strangely, I am not sure I like the strap too tight. It can feel a it strange when you sit on it. But agree that its not much fun when it is flopping around. The only issue is when you are trying to get your toe under it. I have wondered about just put...

Re: rudder shaft

Afraid I can't add much to this. You can find a discussion and comparison of the two materials at: http://www.differencebetween.net/object/difference-between-steel-and-titanium/ and at: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100319171745AAOllge . It sounds like in general, Titanium is likely...

Re: Torment, K102

Hey Michael, I know you will be watching this thread... Just so thrilled you have got Torment back on the water and really looking forwards to hearing what you think of her and canoe sailing in general. I really miss having a classic IC. Should of grabbed one whilst I had the chance! I can't quite t...

HISTORY REQUIRED ON F3 IMPORTED to FRANCE 1980

Posted by EIB on behalf of Tony Marston: HISTORY REQUIRED ON F3 IMPORTED to FRANCE 1980 I have had a request from Francis Blin, Nr Lyon in France for any information on his IC F3. He knows it was imported from the UK in 1980, that it is a glass hull with wood decks. In his email to me he says: "I ha...

Re: Sail size

Sails for the IC are controlled by a rule, but if you were designing yourself...it is largely up to you, within the basic parameters of normal yacht design I would think.

I would suggest asking the OCSG. I think they used to have a size-limit....which was then dropped to leave it open??

cheers

Re: Leeboards and capsizing vs outriggers

Hi Vince, Good to hear from you and thanks for posting to our 'International Open Canoe Sailing' topic area. I am afraid as you might see, this area was set up to encourage discussion amongst those of us who build and sail open sailing canoes, however in reality it has never really been popular them...

Re: Nethercott Lines

Might do.....I will try and look through my images, although would of thought it was amongst Andrew Eastwoods historic stuff.

I do have the PDF from USA canoe newsletter with many historic IC lines.

I also have a complete set of full-size nethercot lines, which could be photographed?

Re: IC 'SLURP' ONE-DESIGN

Thanks Tony for putting up those details about the Slurp Project. As you know, I am a fan of the idea and if I could pull together just a little cash, I would certainly consider the concept of building a Slurp to swell your numbers a little more. Please do keep on with the website as I for one would...

Re: IC 'SLURP' ONE-DESIGN

You are almost there with uploading images to this forum.... At moment we have turned off the ability to upload images to the forum as it uses up lots of space and bandwidth. I could extend the space a bit, but it runs the possibility of building up required bandwidth and with it the possibility of ...

Re: New/old boat....

My presumption always was that this happens when a boat is registered and given a number before it is actually finished?? Reckon Max's boat is a strange one though. Just a wild thought......could this canoe of been a german boat that was brought back to the UK from germany when a brit boat was impor...
