Re: 2018 FIXTURES

Bear in mind many of the fixtures are Secondary Events requiring 3 boats minimum to attend and get a result to count towards the Travellers Trophy i.e. a full set of DNS or DNC's doesn't count as a result. These are a good opportunity for local reps to get local boats attending the event and making...

Re: Promotion of class (Ladies / Youths)

It is about making the first impression. I have 2 IC OD's, one of which is a little fragile, (well, the foils are a bit) and the other, (a Carbon pyranha) will I hope after some tidying and renovation, be fit to thrash in any weather, and won't get too upset by a few scrathes from launching off a sh...

Re: East coast open

It is worth noting that the Nationals at Stone is a relatively short hop round the corner from Aldeburgh. Option 1.) If the meeting is held on 23/24th June, this would Segue neatly into the "Race per day" Nationals format starting on Mon 25th June and those doing the Nationals would make a full holi...

Re: Logistics

The idea would be to add up the whole cost (including Rental, air fares, Ferry costs, Tacho cards, petrol/diesel and tolls) and divide by 6. The distance from Calais actually is only @540miles to Berlin so doable in a day. The drivers would need to apply for Tachometer cards at @ £30 - £50 each. We ...

Well it's the close season unless you're hardy, so now is the time to ask Santa for that new kicker and Harken the Herald angels in preparation for the Summer. I am all the more eager for having retired and am looking forward to getting more involved in my recreation.. Thoughts turn Eastwards at Chr...

Couldn't get Photobucket to show your boar, and I have found that once they know you've posted on another site they try to charge a small fortune for the privilege. I found this image though of the JC10 There has been some discussion lately about a junior trainer, (particularly about the Taifun) and...

Re: K220 - any details?

My records show that Peter H built 115 "Culos Ariba", 148 "Daddy Long Arms" (my first IC), 160 "Running Wild" and 220 "Final Fling". He used to fit a place in his canoes under toe foredeck for a paddle. Peter GBR280 Interesting. Consensus on Torment K102 was that I have an "Avalon" hull though ther...

Re: Tata Steel or Mengeham Rhye

I am planning to do Mengham. It's my boyhood sailing ground (Junior Fireflies) and I watched the Scandinavians dominate the Hayling Island Worlds all those years ago in the 1970's. That was when I caught the bug, but with Rowing and Uni and then the Mortgage etc family etc, its been slow virus. I wo...

Small print stuff.

So, Getting rather exited about this year.... but, I feel I need to know a few basics. I need to get some practice in to be sure I don't get in anyones way when being lapped . (Starting tactic will be strictly stay out of trouble!) I understand there are a few "need to know" rules in the class that ...
