Yes I'll be there also, this new IC is still just amazing fun. I'ts brought back to mind the reason why we first got into IC's. Wish I was 40 years younger!

Re: Worlds reports and further pieces...

I have a load of pictures of canoes and gear taken at the worlds. I need to put them onto disc and forward to Steve.
I also have a list of the canoe weights taken during measuring and a chart showing who is using what type of equipment. I'll get this done in the next few days if the is some interest.

Re: New Boats?

Do not overlook the Morrison design, it is very fast down wind and in time will be the design to beat in home waters.

Thanks for a great world championships

My thanks go to Arnie and his team for putting on a really great week of sailing and shore based activities. Of course when we arrived, 'the weather has never been like this before' started, strong wind and driving rain. We finished a hot sunny conditions and a good 15 knots. Thanks Arnie for a grea...

Re: International Canoe World Championship 2011 Travemünde / GER

Just entered on line, very easy, if you know your German.Carol Ellis provided a very useful translation to make the job much easier.
Looking forward to seeing you all there in a month or so.

Whats the overseas count like? Any AUS or USA canoes entered yet?

OK the worlds are getting a little closer. Has any of the UK sailors entered online yet? I know that John Ellis tried but was not able to complete the process. PLEASE advise.
As for the entries via the BCU who is going to do this ? Andy, Gareth please advise.

Ratchet Blocks

Just looking at a ratchet block ( main sheet )for the new canoe. Always used a Harken mini hex. plus cleat before, but ask advice on the new ratchet blocks on the market. The mini Hex. always seems short of holding power and thinking of changing to the larger version. However it is both large and he...

Re: International Canoe World Championship 2011 Travemünde / GER

Happy to measure it at Weymouth if not before. My new canoe will just make the Nationals as a first sail, so there will be 2 to measure.

Re: Sliding seat carriages

Thanks for all the advice. On my old AC I had Rob's alloy tracks and stainless cars with the plastic inserts, and yes it would easily move fore and aft with my weight outboard with a 2:1 central puller. I'll wait until all is complete then check it out again. I can easily ( in canoe terms) replace t...

Re: Sliding seat carriages

Sorry Guys its not the seat moving side to side , but the carriage moving fore and aft. I have an all carbon carriage and U sectioned tracks laid flat and glued to the hull ( similar to monkey, and most of the US canoes ). The problem does not exist with the alloy tracks and metal cars that Rob uses.

Sliding seat carriages

Well I've spent the best part of 2 weeks making my first all carbon sear carriage. Not really sure yet if its worth the extra time and cost over a well made wooden carriage. Now I need advice on reducing the fiction between carbon surfaces, so that the carriage slides on its carbon tracks.
