A bit of light sanding with wet and drying can make a difference.

Re: ***Premier Open NO 1: Paignton Open For Single Handers***

Day 2 Report Day 2 started with another long wait as an easterly wind together with a high tide keep competitors ashore with waves making launching impossible until a suitable amount of beach was revealed by the ebbing tide. The good news was that the race officer had decided to promote the canoe fl...

Your entry is showing up now, 6 new rules boats entered so far. I think they are prepared to run handicap for AC, OD or slurps to join the fun.

***Premier Open NO 1: Paignton Open For Single Handers***

The first event of the Uk IC season kicks off in the Devon seaside resort of Paignton on the 7th & 8th May 2016. This is a multi class event and there is an entry limit which is currently 70 boats. I would therefore ask everybody who is planning on attending to submit an online pre-entry via the eve...

Re: Proposed Rule Changes - Ballot

Having been the person who started this by saying we needed a tighter rule perhaps I should comment. The changes to rule 9 are aimed to ban hydrofoiling, When taken with the rest of the rules this IMO is enough to prohibit foiling. I am not sure about the proposed rule 10d. Is this banning the kind ...

Re: Jib Boom pivots.

I think most people are passing the forestay through the jib boom and use a jib furling pivot like this one:- http://www.downwindmarine.com/RWO-Furler-Top-Swivel-p-91000329.html To get the boom lower to the deck requires getting the pivot fitting inside the boom. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8721/...

Re: Jib hanks

I used hanks on Monkey up until this current set of sails. I would go back to them again as it was easy to drop the jib onto the deck which saves the jib lots of abuse when you need a tow. As for spacing i would say 8 to 10 inches but I will have to measure the old sail to double check. This pic fro...

Re: Europa Cup 2015 Travemunde

From my post on the class Facebook page... Travemunde day 1 started with a chain of postponements as the ratio of rain to wind was a long way from what is desired for canoe sailing. At 13:00 the race committee decided we would start at 14:00 so frantic activity began to launch the fleet and get to t...
