IC/AC @The Video'

Great Idea! If we could all get one could we use it as a screen saver at home or work. I could get it played at Cowes week (Big Screen) & RIR & then bore/intrige my colleagues totally by leaving it on all day !! Whilst useing the worlds footage would suit the purists It's the speed/blood & guts of i...

separate compartments

I have to agree Andy this idea of one large tank is kinda worrying, any failure or hole could be a real pain. My intention is to keep the main bulkhead full height & likewise a second just aft of the daggerboard. We both know to our own costs whats happens to man & machine when Gurnard Ledge hits yo...

Thanks Phil I've read your reports / ideas with interest, the idea we were thinking of was a reinforced webbing loop placed over the seat centrally some 300-400mm aft of the daggerboard slot, built up on a 'tower'. The top of this would be at the same height as the gunnel and it would extend aft som...

Sliding seat (DC) Thinking outside the box!

Am looking at the layout & questioning the use of a carraige on a new DC. Have talked with a few non IC friends with considerable sailing time and the consensus was that the existing seat in a carraige set up albiet on tracks still limits it's efectivness, as it did on Hornets Minisails & Toys. And ...

I've heard stories of the odd banger being found in overgrown garages but that's mad! Knowing the french I reckon a few long lost farmer relatives (living off EEC grants ) will be checking their ancestry.
With apoligies to our french viewers!!! :) :D

The first night of any resonable breeze coupled to me plucking up the courage to get on the end of the seat & you guessed it almighty bang and suddenly I get very wet! The only part of 176 I hadn't taken apart & rebuilt let me know I should of! So has anyone got a reasonable spare seat they would li...

Ok without speaking to soon I'm now geting to the windward mark in amongst the leading RS700/400's etc only to see them **ss off downwind once their kites go up. An ex Canoeist/good contender sailor has suggested I run/reach to deep which makes the deficit greater than it might be, so the question i...

Last night Andy & I did a club race off Gurnard, for unexpected reasons Andy only caught me at the second lap/windward mark. We then set off downwind turning the dead downwind leg into two very broad reaches, he came past me with a good knot maybe more with no effort at all! no pumping or anything i...

How do you guys see future class opens & nationals being scored? Does or should it mean results for IC & DC being subject to a correction factor to calculate overall positions? Or a third start, watering down the fleet further? Just curious, Barry GBR 176 & ???!

Thanks Phil that ties in with my 150-200 on the forestay. I must admit I havent been out in enough breeze to see the leeward shroud lose yet! Come to think of it it's not what I've been looking at either!!! Cheers Barry.:)
