Re: Sailing Committee Ballot report
Don't worry Steve It was a bit if a wind up! I wouldn't put a pole in a DC. I'am quite content to watch you guys do the IC(DC) thing It kind of reminds me of Moth sailing back in the 70's & memories of friends strugling with overweight boats (thus not finishing my DC). As a Club sailor my ...

Re: Sailing Committee Ballot report
Peter, Believe me it will fit! I was looking at doing just that to the Morrison plug before I gave up the stuggle to get it anywhere near 50kg (it was looking at 15 over 20with pole) And despite others being overweight it's lifespan would of been 2 years max.(40 mins to cut up!) So maybe this autumm...

Re: Spinnaker Coatings

Most web chandlers stock it I see sailboats.co.uk have it listed in variuos sizes from £8.95 to £41...

Re: Rigs
All things go in circles, never right off an idea as technology changes ( but let someone else try it first whilst you get more practice in!) However it appears that our rules 11c) state that with the exception of 'mast, boom, jib stick & jib boom; then all other spars are to be included in the sail a...

Re: Rigs
On the idea of a solid 'spar' on the jib luff, I believe Uffa tried this to overcome the rule of the time, 'two masts?' The more interesting idea you raised was the unstayed rig with a jib, You will probably be aware of the 'swing rigs' fitted to RC yachts (marbleheads) these are principal in carbon...

Nethercott Div 2 ?
Frank As another recent IC sailor I understand your concern, having spent last summer trying to stay with my canoe I think I see your point that the Nethercotts days are numbered. Once I got 'slightly' to grips with the boat & arrived at the top mark with the RS700's I was slightly peaved to watch t...

Jim, They pretty all much seem to use a modafied cascade system, that is with 'two parts of cascade then a 5/6 to 1 tackle on the base giving 16/20 to 1 depending on how you rig the tails. Rob uses a plate under his maststep support to use as base for all the blocks etc. But looking at your photos t...

Christian, Hi my assumtions over AUS AC numbers was gained via the Aussie class site which note numbers 1,2,6,16,18 & 24 were in the process or had been converted. As I previously stated I can totally understand you guys came to the decision to all stay IC to build a fleet, especially with the World...

Christian, Iam slightly bemused, you say the AC is not an issue in Aus but I see that many of your older(ok & newer) IC's are or were being converted AC, surely there owners thought it worthwhile to give it a go. Is that in recognition that as IC'c there days were numbered? :?: But I'm guessing due ...
