Re: Luff lengths
David (sorry Peter!) I played with this last winter I settled on a luff length of 7.5mtrs A Leach of 5.55, A Foot of 3.8 and a 1/2luff to 1/2 leach (mid girth) of 3.7. I had intended to look for a foot of 3.9 & mid girth of 3.8 but on the floor I went for fair shaping. I had looked at a few Hydes wh...

Peter, I've got this on file back in my 'sail loft' as soon as I can get out of 'real' work I'll pop along the road and take a look.

AC for sale SOLD
GBR 176 AC Now I might regret this but in planning the way ahead I'm cautiously putting ' ITSAKINDAMAGIC ' on the market. She is a mid 80's, Miles built wooden canoe which I rebuilt 2/3 years back painted hull epoxy/varnished decks and then fully converted to assymetric last winter. Carbon chute, p...

Re: More World Championships
Hayden, The other side of the coin in this is that the Worlds are going to come round to your side of the globe more often than they might of otherwise. I understand your thinking that for the class stalwarts it means more expense but it may also be an attraction to class newcomers & is this not wha...

Re: NATIONALS INFO
June would be great but please avoid 19th to 21st as that would conflict with the Round the Island Race. Which would mean three years in a row work conflicts, which sadly mirrors the number of years I've been canoe sailing!

Re: Roll Call: Whats happening around the Clubs?
Christian interesting mast/sail shape,(I'll check the cords latter) the upper sections seem to feather off fairly well. Can you hold enough power on when you need it? Or do you feel you'll need to stiffen your mast? Oh minor note is black the new red down under[ IC ] or is that an asthetics thing? R...

Re: Inverted battens
Thanks Rob, I certainly had plenty of kicker still on so I'll try easing it, interestingly I,ve just had some photos sent through & they show the leech is pretty tight as well. I've still got a feeling that the battens are not helping much and are far too bendy but I also have just remembered I have...

Inverted battens
Hi Guys, Suggestions if you please!. My last couple of outings have been in 10/15 knots of breeze & on a couple of occasions after gybing with the kite sheeted in on the new gybe my main battens have refused to 'flip' which is kind of a pain. So is it wrong gybing technique, should I gybe first, fli...

Re: What shoud you do?
Arh hah! The ever business minded chinese have looked at that! The current IC seemto have a short term ownership span, the AC however is 'consitant & steady market' therefore more suitable to investmant & mass production!!!(translated from cantonese) Shipping via container (mtr3) weight therefore no...

Hi Chris I think your right things do seem to be at bit quiet apart from the whether that is! Wednesdays is our club night and for the umpteenth time this year it's blowing it's t**s off, all very frustrating especially as I usually work weekends. As for Carsington I wont be bringing the dog for a w...

Re: Spinnaker Coatings
Bob, It was suggested we tried this on 'Dacron' sails the idea being to prevent moisture absorbtion & to prevent staining (by the Rep!), but to be honest we never did this to a single sail. By this stage all out performance sails were 'Mylar' laminates on various substrates and it wasn't even though...
