Re: Historical Information on PY Numbers for IC

Thanks for the info, great Stuff. I've wondered for a long time if there was a conversion factor to convert current UK numbers to something closer to what USSailing uses. Not that they are all that current, they haven't changed the I-14 number in over 25 years! In the time I've sailed an IC the Dpn ...

Re: Richmond YC XIX World Championships 2014 USA

So far 18 sailors have registered for the fun in September, and were looking forward to more. So far most everyone has requested housing and our housing coordinator , Nancy Pettengill wants everyone to know that if your plans include dated outside the Sept. 4th-17th window you should contact her dir...

Re: Richmond YC XIX World Championships 2014 USA

Things are shaping up for September. So far there are 15 entries. We've made every effort to make the process as painless as possible but one thing that might not be obvious is that you should be able to sign up now , then come back and pay later , closer to departure time. Also it give the voluntee...

Re: 2017 Worlds in Australia???

So Hayden ,
Be careful what you ask for!
One hand in the air can be a disincentive for others to raise theirs!
I for one think it would be great, I might even be able to do one more and make it an even 10.
Can you guarantee the wind will not exceed 7m/s?
:P

Re: Richmond YC XIX World Championships 2014 USA

Re: Team UK, 2014 worlds

Simon, Here's hoping you can make it. If you do and bring a Nethercott, you won't be alone, at last count there could be as many as 4 local ODs on the line and have heard rumors of others. As for driving from Baltimore, go for it! Its roughly 3000 mi takes about 4 days. I did a similar you're last S...

Re: Richmond YC XIX World Championships 2014 USA

Another issue is that on multiple race days the wait between can be brutal. It takes almost as much effort and energy to cruise around as does to race. The class that's always put a high premium on finishing a race , in the past giving a scoring differential for DNF over DNS. At some point I seem to...

Re: Richmond YC XIX World Championships 2014 USA

Colin, Glad to hear the GBR contingent will be so strong. Have you figured how many can fit in a 40? 14?,16? I hear what you're saying about being near retirement, from the work-a-day world anyway. As yet the schedule isn't set, I was looking for input to help the process, naturally we want as many ...

Re: Richmond YC XIX World Championships 2014 USA

Hi Del Will you be running a North American's or something before hand. I've had a quick chat with Chris Mass about the worlds as it looks like I might be in the area around that time but so far it looks like I'll be in Nevada the same time as the worlds. Maybe I can drop by before hand? Any guess ...

Re: Proposal for increase in minimum weight to 55Kg?

With all due respect, I heartly disagree with increasing the minimum weight for the following reasons; 1) A minimum weight canoe is a GOAL not a guarantee. You do the best you can and you see how you did when you put her on the scales. It's not supposed to be easy. You're not guaranteed 1st place in...
