Re: FUTURE OF THE AC

Hi all, I’ve recently made contact with a number of existing and new AC sailors now that we have the bones of a fixture list for next season. If we are to get our boats on the water at a few events next year I thought it might be helpful to focus on a couple of them where we can all try to attend ho...

Re: FUTURE OF THE AC

Thank you to all those who have made direct contact over the last 5 weeks. Your feedback on the future of the class has been very welcome and provides hope for our fleet next year. It appears though that we have a few challenges regarding location if we all want to sail together. it seems that apart...

Re: FRENCH NATIONAL 2020 SANGUINET LAKE

Yes that’s correct Gilles. Closest site is Les Grandes Pins which is opposite the sailing club. La Rive is just down the road and I think Mayotte is on the other side of the lake about a 30 minute drive away. Great sailing, warm waters and slap bang in the middle of the Medoc wine region! Re: FRENCH NATIONAL 2020 SANGUINET LAKE

Hi Gilles, Both myself and Dan will be coming along with our AC’s. I’ve had interest from others too so I will leave it with them to declare on this link. We need 10 as I understand it so come on everyone, the Europeans were great fun in this part of the world this year. Sanguinet is in fact a much ...

Re: FUTURE OF THE AC

Thank you to the two Steve’s for setting the scene on this issue. As a current AC sailor I too believe that we should stick to the boat we have and not further dilute the message by bolting a pole on to a new rules boat. As has been said it’s really up to the current owners to decide what it is they...

Re: ASYMMETRIC CANOES

Steve, Can’t make Stone but looking to make Northampton, Castle Cove and Oxford depending of course on AC numbers. It would be good to get some banter going on who’s doing what this year as there are plenty of boats out there, some with new owners so it would be good to hear from you guys too! Cheer...

Re: Combined/Handicap prize at Europa Cup?

Jim, It's probably easier just to sail us (AC/ DC) off the same handicap which is being adopted at clubs like Saundersfoot. This will reduce the complexity of running the racing generally. As far as the reach is concerned then one broad and one tight worked well a couple of years ago at Oxford with ...

Steve, from a purely timing point of view it's Saundersfoot for me.

Yes, well done Andy for taking on this role. You will have my full support along with no doubt the rest of the AC fleet. If I can be of any help, please let me know. See you at Oxford.

Re: Oxford Open Evening 7 th October.

Hi Steve, please put us down for two on the Saturday night. I will be sailing both days.

Shaun, not sure how you are fixed for a mainsail, I am happy to bring my Hyde spare if you would like to use it.

Thanks

Martyn

Re: transform an AC to be lighter....

Giles,

My email address is Dewy67@aol.com, probably best to exchange details between us than clog up the Canoe site with how many sugars I have in my cafe au lait!

Cheers

Re: transform an AC to be lighter....

Hi Giles, It's great to see activity of this type in France and also the work you have done to bring your boat up to spec again. It certainly looks great in the photographs and a real credit to you. Since the weight reduction of 5Kg came in to force a few of us have thought about where the weight ca...
