Re: *Increasing* plank friction!

A bit late but during my brief play I had the same fun, as I recall I stopped it by fitting a piece of Pro-grip (75 x 20mm long) to the underside of the top of the carriage at each corner. As Steve said it then 'bit up' underload. Regards Barry X GBR176AC

Re: K136 The Rebuild

Abu bit of history,This boat was owned by a friend of mine Phil Baker back in the mid 80's. When I last saw it at Stokes bay she had the dark green hull with a varnished deck. Phil was living fairly near there at Lee on Solent but had spent some time as a member of Banbury SC. I made him the McWilli...

Re: Against all odds

If may be off normal subject, but yes we should all be pleased, Man U fans have long since thought themselves invicible and as a Leeds fan of over 40years I'm feed up of being Reminded about 'Sunderland' in the FA cup & relagation by the Man U knuckle draggers! (most of which can;t spell Sunderland ...

What John's picked up on just in case youve missed it is the DS sails had a rather odd tint of red about the insignia! Or as we might call it BLUE! And still ACanoe less!

Re: AC Developments and boats in build

Mudman, Re your chute taking in water. I trust youve noted that Robs chutes have a drain fitted under the mouthpiece, existing the hull throught the hull adjacent to port. When I converted 176 I couldnt do this as like you I did the marine gynaecology bit & left the decks (very pretty sepele) on dur...

Re: AC Developments and boats in build

Steve well done you have been busy, your pole well must give ample stiffeness to the structure foreward. The idea of building your kite chute into the hull / dance floor should make life a lot simpler and straight forward once youve sorted the inevitable rigging issues. I saw Bob & Gav at Carbon Cra...

Re: Clew height v's Foot length

Hi there a quick input from up here! You might like to give Andy Patterson an e-mail at Bloodaxe boats. I was chatting to him last week and this problem of low booms on uni rigged boats & the art of tacking them was touched on briefly. He had various ideas going on with his boat already under the kn...

Re: Spinnaker Hallyard

I guess that sums up the season! But I'm sure you'll get a few laughs from her. I'm watching to see how the DC growth goes but if I was living on the mainland then it would be no contest & I'd quite happily invest in a newer AC & play opens. For now however theres a Solo in the workshop which I can ...

Ian, unless you've changed it, it's 3mm. I started off with 5mm as RS700's but changed it having seen Robin & Robs.

Hi, like other development classes it's not until an overwhelming majority of newer boats are carrying lead that the logical ones get together & remove it!
