Great idea Tony - put me down for it please. On another subject, I am a little disappointed that for the third or fourth year running there are no events north of the Watford Gap. I have heard rumours of a Northern Circuit. Hope it comes about. Cheers

Is the Llandegfedd date set in stone? I do not know whether it was realised but it clashes with the Lord Brikett weekend at Ullswater. The Lord Birkett is an event which usually attracts some Canoes in it's own right.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have decided to upgrade my ratchet block as a first stage. I have ordered the Ronstan 55 which seems to be the general feeling that this is the best. With an autoratchet I cannot see any problem fitting it to the boom. This would make it more efficient - nothing lost...
